copy-2-of-loup-river02-north-loup_mforsbergMay 6th 2009 marks the beginning of our summer marketing campaign and will run through Labor Day, September 7th.  Over the next 5 months, we will be asking you, the Valley County resident and Central Nebraska outdoor enthusiast for your best photos and videos of the area.

Whats in it for you?  We’ll be awarding $2000 in Ord Area ChamberBucks during the summer-long campaign:

– $200 each month for 1st Place Photo

– $100 each month for Runner-Up Photo

– $100 each month for 1st Place Video

Our campaign will focus on specific assets and amenities in our community over the course of the summer.  The categories for each month are:

  1. May – Wildlife Watching Extravaganza
  2. June – Celebrate Our Area Rivers: the North Loup, the Middle Loup, the Cedar and the Calamus
  3. July -The Hidden Gems of Valley County: Unique or Interesting Places Off the Beaten Path
  4. August – Clear Night Skies: Stargazing in Rural Valley County, Nebraska
  5. September – Summer Fun: A Look Back at the Season

The Rules are simple:

  1. One submission per month per photographer/videographer (photographers/videographers can submit multiple times during summer-long campaign).
  2. Photos/videos have to be taken in Valley County unless noted by specific theme above.  That means location should be included with your submission.
  3. Professional photographers and videographers are allowed to participate.
  4. Valley County residents and Valley County tourists are only eligible.
  5. By submitting your photo, you waive any rights to the photo and grant Ord Area Chamber of Commerce the right to use the photo for any and all promotional materials.
  6. Photos must be digital and emailed to: calebpollard@frontiernet.net
  7. Videos must be digital and either burned to a CD and dropped off at the Chamber or uploaded to YouTube.com and the URL emailed to Caleb.

Photos and videos are due the 3rd Friday of each month with public voting to take place the final week of the month. Voting will take place on the blog and will be final as of 5 p.m. that Friday.

Winners will be announced through the blog, KNLV radio, the Quiz and VCED/Ord Area Chamber of Commerce’s various listservs.

Good luck!
