NPR Comes to Ord

with 2 comments

dsc_0022_dxo_raw2Alexandra Schmidt, a producer on National Public Radio’s “Marketplace,” interviews Ben Welniak as he fills the brochure rack at Trotter’s Whoa & Go last Friday. Alexandra was in Ord to do a story on the joint tourism efforts of Garfield and Valley Counties. Welniak has been working at Valley County Economic Development for the past school year in the OHS School-to-Work program. She also visited with several people who have recently moved to the community in her efforts to understand how rural communities have adapted to changes in population migration and the impact of the national recession.

We’ll keep an eye open for when this story will run on NPR and provide a link to audio archive as well.  More national news for Ord and Valley County!
