Canoe Nebraska

with one comment

Loup River02 (North Loup)_MForsbergLast week, the Lincoln Journal Star ran a great article about canoeing/kayaking our great Nebraska rivers.  They offered the Niobrara, Republican, Dismal and Cedar rivers as places to start.  Might I add the North and Middle Loup rivers to their list as well?  We have tremendous views, wildlife and relaxing trips for any level of canoe enthusiast.  I’ve been blessed to have canoed both the Republican (my parents live in Republican City) and the Cedar river.  My spring and summer canoe plans include our area rivers along with the Journal Star’s recommendations. Nebraska Game and Parks canoeing guides can be found here – they’re a great resource for anyone looking to canoe any Nebraska river.

Below is a map to help you with your travels to our area.  You can read more on our rivers in our ESCAPE travel guide here.

If you do make it out on one of our area rivers, share those photos with us and enter to win some ChamberBucks for your efforts!

Get out there!

  1. I tried canoeing once on a cub scout outing. Would like to try it again.
