Fort Hartsuff Update

with 2 comments

ca9-5-05-033Mum is the word recently on our end – we’ve  been busy enjoying the Independence Day festivities, the alumni weekend festivities and working diligently on the situation with Fort Hartsuff.

We met with both the Director and Assistant Director of Game and Parks, Rex Amack and Roger Kuhn, respectively.  The Grand Island Independent has a solid recap of the meeting here.

Our main thrust moving forward will be threefold: organzing a formal structure for the Friends, fund-raising and marketing.  Those three first steps for the Friends of Fort Hartsuff will be critical to implementing a plan that makes sense locally and makes sense to G&Ps.

One final note:  the level of non-local support that has emanated from the proposed G&P funding reductions has been nothing short of amazing.  We’d like to thank all those involved in helping bring attention to this issue.
