A presentation focusing on helping entrepreneurs understand how this market may be a way for their companies to expand their business will be presented at 6:00 pm, Monday, August 17th, 2009 at the Super 8 in Holdrege, 420 Broadway. Scott Knapp, Certified Contracting Assistance Specialist and Procurement Consultant with the Nebraska Business Development Center-NBDC will have the program entitled Marketing to Government from Local to National. This meeting is hosted by the PK (Phelps and Kearney) Innovators and Entrepreneur Club.

“There is no business too small to look to government contracting on some level,” according to Knapp. He works with companies in 57 Nebraska counties to develop their marketing opportunities to government entities. Knapp said, “Companies obtaining government contracts across the area I serve range from one person operations to large companies”.

During the presentation Knapp will provide ideas on how a company can start government contracting and how the government may buy and pay for purchases.

Social time begins at 6:00pm, the presentation begins at 6:30 and networking time is held afterward. There is no charge for the meeting and the public is encouraged to attend.

I & E Club is a supportive group of Innovators and Entrepreneurs creating a contagious entrepreneurial environment in which participants can investigate the potential of their business ideas. Each monthly meeting includes socializing, education, and networking. Meeting sites alternate between Minden and Holdrege.
